Recipes for Spring Romance: East Coast and Chicago editionšŸ

What's the best recipe for a spring romance with Josie Qu?

I have advice for lovers from my hometown of Chicago to my East Coast lovers in Philadelphia, DC, Boston, and New York

āœˆļø May and June Travels āœˆļø

DC: 5/13-14, duos with Maxienne Robey and Rene Rose

Philadelphia: 5/15-16, duos with Maxienne Robey

NYC: 5/20-21, duos with Maxienne Robey

Boston: 5/22-24

Anchorage: 6/27-28, duos with Sophia Robey

**Chicago based when not traveling, and Iā€™m always available for a FMTY**

Why write a recipe for romance? ā¤ļø

Whether youā€™re an amateur or a seasoned chef in the realm of romance, I always suggest continuing education in the matters of the heart. So get out your favorite gel pen and sparkly journal from your desk and get ready to take notes, toots. Because you want to be the best boyfriend there is, donā€™t you? šŸ„°

As a lifelong amateur dancer, I love being in the presence of live dance and Iā€™m so sad that I still havenā€™t been on a date to the ballet yet!

Letā€™s remedy these dance blues, I would love a night of revelry and romance at the Lyric Opera for the Joffrey Balletā€™s performance of Midsummerā€™s Night Dream* before it closes on May 5th. This would truly make my 12th spring in Chicago incredibly special!

* I repeatedly typed Midsommarā€™s Night Dream before I realized I had it wrong. I would love to see Joffrey Ballet collaborate with Ari Aster for the most demented ballet since the Rite of Spring.

DC | May 13-14 šŸŒ¹

Rene Rose should be on the DC tourism board! She has lured me back to DC with her wit and curves. Last time I was in DC in the summer of 2022, we bonded over our excellent taste in books and lovers, and lucky for everyone, we both love to share. I would love nothing more than us to spend a day together wandering the aisles of Second Story Books, French pastries at Un Je Ne Sais Quoi, dinner at Seven Reasons, and a private dessert course at my private DC boudoir.

Philadelphia | May 15-16 šŸŽØ

I must admit, Iā€™ve been quite quite lucky with Philly! There's a very special Philly gent whoā€™s reunited me with one of my favorite people, Maxienne Robey for a delightful afternoon and evening of textile and culinary appreciation.

If youā€™re feeling a little envious, I suggest you invite us both to your favorite farmerā€™s market and a picnic after. A little birdy has told me that the Fairmount Farmers Market is perfect for an afternoon of flirtation in sundresses, springā€™s finest fruits, and banter.

New York | May 20-21 šŸŽžļø

I canā€™t believe I havenā€™t been back in New York since 2021! My last trip to New York was unfortunately spoiled by decidedly ungentlemanly behavior from a so I hope to patch over

šŸŒæ For a sacrilegious kiss in the garden, letā€™s take an afternoon stroll around the Met Cloisters

šŸŽ„ For the movie buff, take the train down to Museum of Moving Image for the Jim Henson exhibit and the Exorcist production and makeup design exhibit

šŸŽžļø For a night at the movies, you can find me in the little black dress lounging in the red velvet seats of Roxy Cinema.

šŸ· For the perfect dinner, letā€™s savor an extravagant Afro-Caribbean and Creole feast at Tatiana by Kwame Onwuachi

Boston | May 22-23 šŸ£

Boston, you always have introduced me to the most thoughtful lovers! Will you continue to impress this tour? I have a very good feeling you willā€¦.

My dream would be for us to drive down to the Edward Gorey House in Cape Cod, stopping for an abundance of fried seafood on the way, you licking tartar sauce off your fingers, the wind in our hair, your hand resting on my thigh. Our imaginations will be stirred by Edward Goreysā€™ fantastical permutations of the book form, and the windā€™s gentle flirtation with the hemline of my sundress.

If you arenā€™t ready to play hooky though, I would love nothing more to whisper delicate nothings/everythings at 311 Omakase.
